OMERA
OMERA AUTOMATES PAYROLL FOR 1,500 WORKERS WITH TIPSOI’S BIOMETRIC SYSTEM
Omera is a leading group of companies in Bangladesh specializing in petroleum gas and lubrication industries. Its core businesses include:
- Omera Petroleum Limited (OPL): Imports, bottles, and distributes LPG for household, industrial, and automotive use.
- Omera Cylinders Limited (OCL): Manufactures steel LPG cylinders.
- Omera Lubricants: Offers engine oils and greases under the Omera Lube 1 and Omera-PLEX XHP 2 brands.
With multiple factories and a large workforce, Omera sought a centralized solution to manage employee attendance accurately and efficiently.
Problems:
Managing Multiple Factories: Omera struggled to monitor attendance across three factories, with employees spread across different locations, shifts, and roles
Inaccurate Manual Attendance: Contractual and casual workers were tracked manually, often leading to discrepancies like employees being logged early or late, causing payroll errors.
Lack of Centralized Oversight: Separate attendance records for each factory made it difficult for the head
office to track late arrivals, overtime, and overall workforce performance.
Integration with ERP: Attendance data from Tipsoi devices is first processed through Tipsoi HRM, then seamlessly synced with Omera’s ERP system, enabling real-time reports and automated payroll calculations.
Solution
Reporting & Employee Management: Tipsoi’s system enables managers to generate detailed reports, track overtime and attendance, and easily manage employee details like Name, Shift Group, and Workplace, streamlining HR operations.
Tipsoi Face Recognition Devices: Implemented premium and best-value devices to track employee attendance accurately, even in hightraffic areas.
Part-Time & Permanent Employee Tracking: The system manages both casual and permanent employees, covering leave, shifts, and overtime efficiently.
IMPLEMENTATION
Devices Installed: 16 Tipsoi devices deployed across three factories – 6 FastFace Pro FP units in high-traffic areas and 10 FastFace Lite units in low-traffic areas.
ERP Integration: Attendance data seamlessly integrates with Omera’s ERP system for automatic payroll generation.
RESULTS / IMPACT
Accurate Attendance Tracking: Eliminated
manual errors, providing reliable attendance
data for payroll and reporting.
Time & Efficiency Gains: Reduced
administrative workload by digitizing
attendance management.
FIBER@HOME
FIBER@HOME’S JOURNEY FROM INTEGRATION PAIN TO EFFORTLESS HR OPERATIONS
Fiber@Home, Bangladesh’s first and largest private NTTN, provides high-capacity optical transmission services nationwide. With a growing workforce of over 500 employees, the company faced challenges in managing employee attendance and integrating it with their ERP system, driving the need for a more efficient solution.
CHALLENGES IN ATTENDANCE TRACKING
Fiber@Home relied on a mix of biometric devices to track employee attendance. High-traffic areas used facial recognition devices, while fingerprint scanners were deployed in other locations.
- False Recognition: Facial devices often misidentified employees, recording one person at another’s station, resulting in inaccurate attendance data.
- Slow Performance: Devices were sluggish, causing delays and inefficiencies in recording attendance.
- Integration Issues with ERP: Existing devices could not seamlessly integrate with Fiber@Home’s ERP software, making it difficult to consolidate and analyze attendance data in real time.
- Limited Reporting & Insights: The previous system lacked detailed reporting, device management, and real-time dashboards, limiting the company’s ability to monitor employee activity effectively.
SOLUTION PROVIDED
Tipsoi implemented a fully integrated system combining FastFace biometric devices with cloud-based HRM software, enabling accurate and real-time attendance management.
- Device Deployment: FastFace devices installed across high-traffic and standard areas, providing fast and accurate recognition.
- System Integration: Tipsoi HRM integrated with Fiber@Home’s ERP, ensuring attendance data could be viewed and processed in real time.
- Managerial Insights with Tipsoi HRM: The parallel use of Tipsoi HRM enhances reporting capabilities beyond the ERP system, offering advanced device management features. Additionally, its user-friendly dashboards provide detailed reports on attendance, leave,
and shifts.
RESULTS & IMPACT
Tipsoi transformed Fiber@Home’s HR
operations with:
- Accurate Attendance: Elimination of false
recognition and slow devices. - Real-Time Reporting: Immediate visibility
into attendance, leave, and shift patterns. - ERP Integration: Seamless flow of
attendance data for payroll and HR
analytics. - Operational Efficiency: Streamlined HR
operations and improved decision-making
SERF AGRO
SERF AGRO INDUSTRIES: STREAMLINING FIELD WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT WITH TIPSOI
Serf Agro Industries is a leading company in Bangladesh, importing agricultural products like chemical fertilizers and pesticides from China. They provide consultancy services to farmers, helping them choose the right products and offering guidance on effective farming practices. Their workforce primarily operates in the field, visiting farms across the country.
PROBLEMS
Challenges in Managing a Mobile Workforce: With over 70 field employees across multiple locations, supervisors struggled to verify if employees visited assigned farms in real time, leading to inefficiencies.
Manual Tracking Led to Inaccuracies: Employees occasionally reported unmade visits, and unreliable Google Map screenshots led to inaccurate attendance records. The manual tracking process also wasted hours, delaying decision-making.
SOLUTION
Tipsoi offered a comprehensive solution tailored for Serf Agro’s field operations:
- Mobile Punch with Geo-Location: Employees punch in/out via mobile, with accurate location captured.
- Real-Time Tracking: Supervisors can instantly monitor if employees are visiting assigned farms.
- Cloud-Based HRM Integration: All attendance and location data is logged in Tipsoi’s HRM system, offering a detailed view of activities.
Tipsoi’s system provided Serf Agro with a complete, reliable view of its field workforce, transforming management and boosting operational confidence.
Supervisor Training
Tipsoi conducted training sessions to teach supervisors how to effectively use mobile punching and location tracking. Supervisors were also trained to access and interpret data for monitoring employee visits.
RESULTS / IMPACT
Tipsoi enhanced efficiency, enabled accurate reporting, and empowered Serf Agro supervisors to make
data-driven decisions, boosting accountability, productivity, and seamless mobile workforce
management
