Recognition on Fastface 7 runs through a paired infrared and RGB camera setup, returning a match in 0.2 seconds or less at 99.99% accuracy. The reason for two sensors rather than one is lighting. An RGB camera struggles in darkness and washes out under strong backlighting; the infrared sensor does not, so the device keeps working when conditions are poor.
That matters in practice more than it does on paper:
Hospitals and 24-hour facilities. Overnight shifts and emergency situations rarely offer ideal lighting. Infrared detection keeps recognition consistent, so clinical staff are not held up at a door when timing matters.
Office buildings at peak intake. When a few hundred people arrive inside the same twenty minutes, sub-second matching is what stops a queue forming at reception. The throughput is the feature, not the speed figure on its own.
Industrial and plant environments. Lighting is uneven across most large facilities, and workers may be wearing protective gear. The dual-camera arrangement adapts across those conditions rather than requiring the entry point to be lit a particular way.
